Privacy policy
How we collect, use, and share your personal information.
Last updated: the version on this page applies when you use UK Buying Agent.
This Privacy Policy describes how UK Buying Agent (“we”, “us”) processes personal information when you visit our website, register an account, place orders, or contact us. It should be read together with our Terms and conditions.
Who is responsible for your data
The operator of UK Buying Agent is the controller of personal information processed for this website and related buying-agent services. For privacy requests, contact contact@globalbuyingagent.com.
Information we collect
You provide: name, email, password (stored hashed), delivery and billing addresses, phone/WhatsApp, order content (links, descriptions, files), comments and messages on your order page, and payment-related references (we do not aim to store full card numbers on our servers when payments are handled by processors).
Automatic: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, referral URLs, and cookies or similar technologies needed for login sessions, security, and basic analytics.
From third parties: Sellers, Carriers, or payment partners may provide status updates (tracking, delivery proof, payment confirmation) linked to your Order.
How and why we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and administer your account and authenticate you;
- price, procure, consolidate, and ship Goods per your instructions;
- communicate about Orders, payments, customs, and support;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- comply with law, tax, and accounting obligations; and
- improve our website and services (aggregated or de-identified where possible).
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating a secure commerce service, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where consent is required (for example optional marketing, if we offer it).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your data to unrelated third-party marketers.
When we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run the service, including with:
- Sellers and marketplaces — to purchase Goods (your name, contact, and delivery details as required);
- Carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers — for labels, tracking, and declarations;
- Payment processors — to process transactions you initiate;
- Hosting, email, and IT providers — under confidentiality obligations;
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
By registering and placing Orders, you acknowledge that we will share shipping and identity information with logistics partners and Sellers as reasonably necessary to fulfill your request. Customs forms may show your name, address, and goods description to officials in origin, transit, and destination countries.
International transfers
Our systems and partners may process data in countries other than your own. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
Retention & security
We retain information while your account is active and afterward as needed for disputes, chargeback defense, legal retention periods, and audit. Order and payment records may be kept for several years where accounting or tax law requires.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the service at your own risk regarding unauthorized access beyond our reasonable controls.
Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent. To exercise rights, email contact@globalbuyingagent.com. We may verify your identity and decline requests where an exception applies (for example legal retention or ongoing Order performance).
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country if you believe processing violates applicable law.
You can control cookies through browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break login.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version here. Material changes apply from the posted date unless otherwise stated.
